Biography of Rev. Dr. Glenda J. Sutton
Dr. Glenda Sutton is an Ordained Minister of the Gospel and along with her husband Dr. James Sutton, are Pastors and founders of Christian Life Church in Manassas, Virginia. She was ordained by and is as a member of the Mutual Baptist Missionary Association of Washington D.C and also by World Harvest Alliance under the leadership of Pastor Rod Parsley of Columbus, Ohio. She is a native of Orange, Texas where she grew up serving in her Christian Faith from age 10 when she was baptized. She participated in youth choir, youth usher ministry and acted as the Sunday school secretary. Dr. Sutton was called into the five-fold ministry in 1988 and spent years studying the Bible to preach and teach the Word of God. She has been a speaker and teacher at numerous Christian seminars, conferences and instructor for various Bible Institute courses, for Adult and Youth Bible Studies and Evangelism Events. She has provided Christian counseling in marriage and family, women issues, coping with death and dying, raising Godly children and as a Stephen’s Ministry worker.
Dr. Sutton is a graduate of San Diego State University, San Diego, California, where she received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. She holds a Master Degree in Health Care Administration from Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri and a second Master Degree in Nursing Administration from the University of Maryland. She also holds a Ph.D. in Christian Education from Faith Christian University and a Doctorate of Divinity (D.Div.) from the Mutual Baptist Missionary Association. She is a former Adjunct, Nursing Professor, Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington.
Dr. Sutton is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army Nurse Corps. Colonel Sutton served in numerous leadership assignments and roles in her 20 year career and she has been the Head Nurse of the Emergency Room, Chemotherapy Department, Orthopedic Unit, Oncology Ward, and worked as an Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist. During her two tours at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC she served as Head Nurse of the Medical and Surgical Unit, as the PM Nursing Supervisor, and was the Head Nurse of the first specialized AIDS Treatment Unit. Dr. Sutton is a highly decorated military officer and earned numerous medals and awards that included two Meritorious Service Medals, the Army Commendation Medal and the coveted Expert Field Medical Badge.
Dr. Sutton is honored to have been recognized by Cambridge’s Who’s Who in America among Executives and Professionals. She is a member of and supports various professional and social organizations. She and her husband or blessed to have reared five wonderful children and now have one granddaughter. Her husband Rev. Dr. James E. Sutton and she reside in Haymarket, Virginia.
